Heat Assured Systems of NY offers the Efficient, Robust Off-grid Heating System (EROHS) to solve the problem of losing heat during electric power grid outages -- with the added benefit of improved energy efficiency when the electric power grid is operational. The EROHS is based on a patented process that uses high-efficiency components and operates on DC power. An initial prototype of the EROHS has been built and will be refined in 2008.
